Description

  • Manage and review corporate tax compliance work for a varied portfolio, ensuring high-quality delivery.
  • Support senior colleagues on advisory projects involving international tax, reorganisations, and M&A activity.
  • Assist in identifying tax planning opportunities and contribute to developing practical solutions for clients.
  • Play a key role in project delivery, helping senior team members execute complex assignments effectively.
  • Carry out technical research on nuanced tax matters and prepare well-structured summaries or reports.
  • Keep up to date with relevant tax legislation, guidance, and emerging developments.
  • Work collaboratively with other service lines to ensure joined-up support for clients.

Profile

A successful Assistant Tax Manager should have:

  • At least three years' experience in corporate tax, including exposure to international tax matters, reorganisations and M&A projects.
  • Strong technical capability with a sound understanding of key areas such as corporate tax compliance, tax accounting, loss relief, interest restriction, and group matters.
  • ATT/CTA and/or ACA qualified.
  • Accurate, detail-focused approach with the ability to interpret and apply complex legislation.
  • Comfortable using tax software (Alphatax an advantage) alongside strong proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Effective organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple workflows and meet deadlines.
  • Proactive mindset with confidence in analysing issues, problem-solving and contributing ideas.
  • Clear, confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with clients.
