Finance Manager
Location: Letchworth, Hertfordshire
Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time, office-based (Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm)
Reports to: Group CFO / Group Financial Controller
About the Role
StormX Recruitment are working on behalf of an established client in Letchworth who are seeking a highly organised and hands-on Finance Manager to take ownership of key finance and accounts administration functions across a growing group of businesses.
This is a pivotal role, offering the opportunity to work across multiple subsidiaries while contributing to wider group finance initiatives. You will play a key part in improving efficiency, optimising processes, and supporting the business through its next phase of growth.
The role requires a proactive individual with strong technical accounting skills, excellent attention to detail, and the confidence to engage with stakeholders across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage purchase orders via the ERP system
- Process and post supplier invoices to Sage Line 50 and Xero, ensuring reconciliation with ERP
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve invoice queries
- Prepare and manage supplier payment runs for approval
- Reconcile multicurrency bank transactions and post to accounting systems
- Process employee expenses, petty cash, and company credit card transactions
- Raise and post sales invoices
- Manage credit control processes
- Prepare and submit VAT returns
- Monitor cash flow, overheads, and financial projections
- Produce monthly management accounts, including:
- Prepayments and accruals
- Depreciation
- Stock and GRNI adjustments
- Analyse project revenue and costs on a monthly basis
- Develop and enhance financial systems and reporting
- Produce ad hoc financial reports (daily, weekly, monthly)
Skills & Experience Required
- Strong working knowledge of Sage Line 50 and Xero
- Experience managing accounts independently (end-to-end finance responsibility)
- Experience working with multiple currencies
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
