Senior Practice Manager - St. James’s Place Practice

Near Epping Forest, Greater London

Salary up to £50,000 (DOE)


An exciting position has arisen for an experienced Senior Operations Manager to join a growing and well-established St. James’s Place practice based near Epping Forest.

Role Overview

The Senior Operations Manager will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the practice’s operations. The primary focus of the role is to relieve the Partner and Advisers of operational and administrative responsibilities, allowing them to spend more time client-facing and developing the business.

This role will involve managing the team, overseeing operational performance, and ensuring that all client meetings are conducted efficiently and that outcomes and actions are followed through accurately and compliantly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overall management of daily practice operations
  • Leadership and development of the operations and support team
  • Oversight of business processing, client servicing, and workflow management
  • Ensuring regulatory and compliance requirements are met in line with St. James’s Place standards
  • Monitoring team performance and driving operational excellence
  • Ensuring client meetings are efficiently organised and all outputs are completed in a timely manner
  • Supporting the Partner and Advisers in the ongoing development of the practice
  • Involvement in marketing initiatives and business development activity
  • Financial and administrative oversight of operational processes

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will be an experienced financial services professional with strong operational, technical, and leadership skills, ideally with prior experience within a St. James’s Place practice.

Essential Experience & Skills:

  • Previous experience within St. James’s Place
  • Strong paraplanning and technical expertise
  • Proven experience in financial services operations management
  • People management and leadership capability
  • Good working knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements
  • Proficiency with financial planning systems and tools
  • Excellent client servicing and organisational skills

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Financial Planning (DipFA) or equivalent (preferred)

Soft Skills:

  • Highly organised and detail-focused
  • Proactive, accountable, and solutions-oriented
  • Strong communicator with a collaborative leadership style
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
