Lead Windows Engineer - London (Hedge Fund)

Our client, a leading London-based hedge fund, is seeking a hands-on Lead Windows Engineer to design, build and own their core Windows infrastructure. The successful hire will work closely with security, engineering and operations teams to ensure a robust, reliable and high-performing Windows estate across the organisation.

This is a greenfield, high-performance environment where your architectural decisions will have both immediate and long-term impact. The organisation is heavily invested in Windows-based endpoints and requires someone who can drive standards, resilience and modernisation end-to-end.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain enterprise-grade Windows infrastructure across on-prem and cloud environments.
• Own Windows 11 and Windows Server configuration, lifecycle management, deployment, patching and troubleshooting.
• Architect and manage Entra ID (Azure AD), hybrid identity and domain services.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to drive architectural decisions that support scalability, operational resilience and security best practices.

Requirements

• 7+ years' experience in Windows Infrastructure Engineering within a complex enterprise environment.
• Expert-level knowledge of Azure, Intune, Microsoft 365 and Entra ID.
• Strong experience configuring, managing and deploying Windows 11 and Windows Server.
• Strong IaC skills including PowerShell and familiarity with Microsoft Graph API.
• Proven ability to engineer scalable, secure, high-performance Windows environments
