Job Description

Your new company
A leading, award-winning building services consultancy is seeking an experienced Electrical Associate Engineer to join their established London office. Known for delivering technically robust engineering solutions across complex projects, they offer a progressive environment where senior engineers can genuinely influence strategy, mentor teams, and drive best-practice design.

Your new role
As an Electrical Associate, you will take a leadership role within the electrical team, managing project delivery, overseeing design quality, and acting as a key technical authority across a diverse portfolio. You'll work closely with Directors, clients, architects, and wider MEP teams to deliver innovative, sustainable electrical solutions from concept through to handover.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading electrical building services design across large-scale commercial, residential, mixed-use, and mission-critical projects
  • Managing project teams and providing technical oversight, guidance, and mentoring
  • Reviewing and signing off designs, calculations, and technical documentation
  • Acting as a key client liaison, attending design meetings and representing the practice at senior level
  • Contributing to bids, fee proposals, resource planning, and internal development
  • Supporting digital engineering workflows, including BIM/Revit integration
  • Driving continuous improvement, best practice, and innovation within the team

What you'll need to succeed

  • Extensive experience within electrical building services engineering, ideally operating at Senior/Principal/Associate level
  • Strong technical capability across LV distribution, lighting, life-safety systems, power, and control systems
  • Proven experience delivering multi-sector projects through all RIBA stages
  • Ability to lead teams, manage client relationships, and oversee project performance
  • Strong understanding of UK standards, regulations, and industry guidance (CIBSE, BS7671, etc.)
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards chartership is highly desirable
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project-management skills

What you'll get in return

  • £75,000 - £95,000 + comprehensive benefits package
  • Hybrid working model for improved work-life balance
  • Opportunity to step into a strategic leadership role with real influence
  • Support for professional development, including chartership and leadership training
  • A collaborative, forward-thinking environment with strong career progression
