Warehouse Operative – Component Counting & Decanting

Fantastic opportunity for an experienced Warehouse Operative to work for this established Distribution Company in Stevenage. The role is initially temp but highly likely to go perm after 3 months. Temp salary is equivalent to £28k

This role is based in a clean and bright warehouse environment, where you will be working in a close-knit team. You must be computer literate

Purpose of the Role:

To accurately count, verify, and repackage various electronic and mechanical commodity items into designated Primary Pack Quantities (PPQs) in accordance with site quality, ESD, and handling procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform manual counting and verification of component quantities against packing lists or system records.
• Decant components from bulk or mixed packaging into labelled PPQ bags.
• Handle all materials in accordance with ESD requirements (training provided).
• Report any discrepancies, damaged packaging, or labelling issues to the Team Leader or Operations Manager.
• Support wider warehouse activities as required (stock movements, packing, pallet labelling, etc.).

Skills & Experience Required:

• Previous experience in warehouses, stores, or production environments (preferably electronics or manufacturing).
• High attention to detail and accuracy in counting and labelling.
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills for handling documentation.
• Awareness of ESD precautions – Basic ESD training will be provided.
• Ability to follow written work instructions and quality standards.
• Physically able to handle light-to-medium weight component boxes or trays.

Working Conditions:

• Controlled warehouse environment. Standing and light manual handling work.
• Temporary contract; shift pattern from 07:30 to 16:00 Monday to Thursday, 07:30 to 15:00 Friday

Reporting To:

AIS Operations Manager

The Package:

• Competitive basic salary - £28,000
• Pension
• 22 days holiday plus Christmas shut down
