Assistant Accountant in Bootle - RG Consultancy Ltd

RG Consultancy are helping a well-established and growing business with a turnover of approximately £20m, seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Accountant to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their accounting career within a supportive and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts
• Support the Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger functions
• Perform bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
• Process journals, accruals, and prepayments
• Maintain accurate financial records and support month-end close
• Assist with VAT returns and other statutory reporting
• Provide ad-hoc support to the Finance Manager as required

Person Specification

• Previous experience in a similar Assistant Accountant or Accounts Assistant role
• Good understanding of double-entry bookkeeping
• AAT qualified or studying towards
• Strong Excel skills
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Good communication and organisational skills
