Job Description
We are supporting a Leighton Buzzard based company who are seeking an Accounts Assistant to join them in an fixed term contract position. This is for maternity cover (18-months). Our client are one the market leaders within their sector, working across the UK and Europe.
Location: Leighton Buzzard, fully office based.
Contract Type: Fixed term contract, 18-months.
Working Hours: 08:00 - 17:00, Monday to Friday.
Overview:
- The Accounts Assistant role will provide full accounts support to the Head of Finance and Senior Management Team within a busy Accounts department. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a team in a varied and fast paced role and to support the company.
Duties:
- Register purchase invoices upon receipt.
- Monitoring of accounts e-mail address.
- Match purchase invoices with goods in notes / purchase orders.
- Code and post purchase invoices into software.
- Pass invoices to mangers for approval.
- Set up payment runs for management approval.
- Coding and posting of weekly expenses claims.
- Reconciling supplier statements, dealing with queries, disputing invoices etc.
- Monthly reconciliation of company credit card statements.
- Locate and enter customs information.
- Weekly bank reconciliations.
- Assist credit controller where required in collecting debts, providing copy sales invoices, looking into queries etc.
- Maintenance of petty cash tin and journals etc.
- Assist Accounts Office Manager with generating and maintaining supporting documentation for monthly management accounts including: Fixed asset and disposals reporting, prepayment workings and reconciliation. Various Excel reporting tasks.
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of three years experience in an equivalent role is essential.
- AAT or similar qualification preferred.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail with high levels of accuracy.
- Good IT skills with advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV Dynamics 365 Business Central is preferred.
