Finance Manager - Systems Transformation. 12 Month Fixed Term Contract
We are looking for an experienced Finance Manager to take on a secondment into a major finance systems transformation programme with a highly regarded client. While seconded into the project, this role will remain closely aligned to the Finance function, continuing to support and represent the Accounting team throughout the delivery.
This is a highly visible role, offering regular interaction with the Senior Leadership Team and the opportunity to shape how finance operates in the future.

The Opportunity
In this role, you will act as the key bridge between Finance and the systems project, ensuring that operational finance requirements, controls and outcomes remain at the heart of the transformation. You will lead finance input into the implementation, while maintaining accountability for supporting cash accounting processes, controls and reporting.
You will work closely with project teams, technical specialists and third-party providers, while remaining a trusted finance lead for business-as-usual activity.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the Finance lead on a major finance systems implementation, representing Cash Accounting throughout the project
• Ensure robust financial controls are embedded, including reconciliations, transactional processing, VAT and accounting integrity
• Provide regular updates, insight and challenge to the Senior Leadership Team and key stakeholders
• Partner with Finance, Project and BAU teams to ensure smooth delivery and minimal disruption to ongoing operations
• Act as a key liaison between internal technical teams and external service providers
• Drive process improvement and efficiency, ensuring systems and controls support scalable, sustainable finance operations
• Oversee delivery of management information, control reporting and project metrics
• Managing 1 direct report

About You

• Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
• Strong background in operational or cash accounting within a large, complex organisation
• Proven experience working in environments with high transaction volumes and strong control requirements
• Experience of finance systems change or transformation projects (Oracle experience desirable)
• Confident leader with the ability to balance project delivery and business-as-usual priorities
• Comfortable engaging with senior leaders, influencing decisions and providing clear, credible finance insight
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and presentation skills
• Structured, analytical and solutions-focused, with a strong delivery mindset
