Fulltime, Permanent Position

Assure Personnel Ltd are currently recruiting a Quantity Surveyor on behalf of our client, a leading building contractor. Due to continued rapid growth, they are seeking a motivated Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in managing the costs and ensuring the financial success of projects. Your main duties will include:

  • Financial Management:Monitoring project budgets, tracking changes to design/construction work, and adjusting financial projections accordingly.
  • Cost Forecasting:Accurately forecasting material and labour costs for various projects.
  • Contract Management:Preparing tender documents, contracts, budgets, and bills of quantities. Ensure compliance with contract obligations and drive value through effective supply chain management.
  • Procurement:Sourcing and agreeing the services of contractors and subcontractors.
  • Collaboration:Working closely with clients, contract managers, site managers, and project engineers to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • On-Site Valuation:Measuring, valuing, and billing the work completed on site.
  • Reporting & Sourcing:Writing reports, selecting construction materials, and proactively identifying cost-saving opportunities and innovation.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

We are looking for a proactive individual with a strong foundation in quantity surveying principles.

  • Essential Qualifications:A minimum of HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying is required. We are committed to supporting further relevant educational development.
  • Technical Skills:Proficiency in MS Excel and Word is essential.
  • Contract Knowledge:A thorough understanding of contract terms, conditions, and tender documentation.
  • Interpretation Skills:The ability to confidently read and interpret technical drawings, highlighting and challenging any uncertainties.
  • Soft Skills:Strong communication, negotiation, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Work Ethic:The ability to manage your own initiative while working effectively as part of a team, and the willingness to meet tight deadlines.
  • Logistics:A clean, valid UK driving licence is required (company vehicle provided).

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary:Negotiable and competitive, dependent upon experience.
  • Holiday:28 days annual leave (inclusive of UK Bank Holidays).
  • Perks:Use of a company vehicle and mobile phone.

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 7:30 am - 5:00 pm
