FP&A Analyst

Our client in the mining industry are looking for a new FP&A Analyst to join their growing team based in Central London. This is key position in their group finance function, reporting into the Group FP&A Manager, and supporting with their budgeting and forecasting process, as well as general financial analysis.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead FP&A support for designated operating mines and group entities.
  • Analyse and interpret financial and operational performance across forecasts, budgets, and actuals.
  • Work closely with site finance and operational teams to provide insight and challenge.
  • Contribute to budget and forecast reviews with operational and Executive Management.
  • Support the preparation and consolidation of group budgets, forecasts, and long-range plans.
  • Conduct sensitivity analysis and scenario modelling to aid strategic decision-making.
  • Assist with group-level financial reviews involving senior stakeholders.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and year-end management accounts.
  • Deliver performance reporting, including trend, variance, cost, and capex analysis.
  • Create high-quality presentations for Executive Management and the Board.
  • Prepare analyst materials for quarterly external market updates.
  • Support the quarter-end and year-end reporting cycles.
  • Undertake ad hoc financial analysis and project work.
  • Support system enhancements, automation, and AI-driven improvements.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA), with exposure to mining and natural resources, in practice or in industry. Analytical and commercial exposure is highly important, with particular focus on budgeting and forecasting processes, financial analysis and business partnering.

You should be a good communicator and able to translate financial data to support operational and strategic decision making. Strong systems experience is also key, as well as general technical knowledge.
