Financial Controller in Holsworthy - Butler Rose

Butler Rose is partnering with a fast-paced business in North Devon to recruit a Financial Controller on a permanent basis. This is a hybrid working role.

We're looking for a hands-on, commercially minded Financial Controller to take ownership of day-to-day finance operations and play a key role in strengthening controls, improving processes, and partnering with the business on performance.

The Role

You'll lead core finance activities including month-end, statutory reporting, cash management and forecasting, while driving continuous improvement across systems and controls. Acting as a trusted business partner to Sales, Operations and Supply Chain, you'll translate financial data into meaningful insight that supports decision-making.

Key highlights include:

• Managing a small finance team
• Full ownership of month-end, year-end and statutory reporting (UK GAAP / IFRS)
• Leadership of audits and primary contact for external auditors
• Oversight of AP, AR, balance sheet integrity, cash and treasury
• Driving budgeting, forecasting, rolling cash-flow and margin analysis
• Strengthening internal controls, governance and finance processes
• Leading, developing and mentoring the finance team

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
• Prior experience of working in a managerial finance role with strong reporting ownership
• Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP / IFRS, revenue recognition and inventory
• Experience improving controls and processes in growing or changing organisations
• Confident business partner with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
• Hands-on, resilient and solutions-focused
