Position: Accounts AssistantLocation: Cheltenham Contract: Temporary Days: 5 Days a week (flexible) Start: ASAP
The Role
Here at Hays we are supporting a dynamic SME in Cheltenham with the recruitment process for an Interim Accounts Assistant to support the day-to-day financial operations of the organisation. You'll play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and providing reliable administrative support to the finance team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing purchase invoices, sales invoices, and credit notes
  • Matching, batching, and coding invoices
  • Preparing and issuing customer invoices
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records
  • Handling accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks
  • Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies
  • Chase aged debt


About You

  • Proven experience in bookkeeping or finance.
  • Strong knowledge of ledgers
  • Proficient in Excel and finance systems.
  • Highly organised, accurate, and confidential.
  • AAT or equivalent desirable.
