Logistics Operative in Portsmouth - Journey recruitment

We are looking for a motivated and reliable Logistics Operative to join a busy warehouse and logistics team based in Portsmouth.

You will be supporting with Goods-In, Despatch, customer asset collections, van driving (drivers licence required), and general warehouse operations

This is a hands-on role offering a salary of £26,000 per annum for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities for the Logistics Operative role are:

• Perform goods-in duties, including unloading vehicles, checking and unpacking deliveries, and completing accurate data entry across multiple systems
• Pick stock for dispatch, check inventory, and pack goods ready for shipping
• Asset-tag new stock prior to storage in the warehouse
• Move and transfer stock within and between warehouses, ensuring all movements are accurately recorded
• Maintain tidiness and organisation across the warehouse
• Assist drivers with on-site collections, deliveries, and asset management
• Complete regular inventory stock checks to ensure stock integrity
• Assist with waste and recycling operations, including WEEE equipment
• Escalate operational issues to management promptly
• Support the team to maintain an efficient workflow
• Undertake ad-hoc tasks as requested

Skills required for the Logistics role are:

• Current, clean manual driving licence (essential)
• Advanced PC skills, including Microsoft Office
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of health and safety in warehouse environments
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy at speed
• Able to work under pressure and manage priorities effectively
• Flexible and willing to undertake a wide range of duties
• Understanding of stock movement, warehousing, logistics, and shipping
