Job Description

Process Consultant - Digital Transformation | Up to £65,000 | Hybrid | Birmingham, Leicester, or Leeds

A major financial services organisation is undergoing significant digital transformation, moving from legacy systems into a modern, product-led operating model. They are mid-way through migrating core operations onto Salesforce and embedding intelligent automation across the business.

The Role

As a Process Consultant, you will lead process improvement across digital and operational teams, using Lean thinking to redesign and optimise end-to-end processes. This role sits at the intersection of Product, Digital and Operational Excellence.

You will be part of a collaborative team from varied backgrounds including financial services, telecoms, energy, manufacturing, and consulting. The team consists of 3 Optimisation Consultants and 6 Process Analysts, with matrix leadership responsibility over the analysts.

Key Responsibilities

Lead process improvement using Lean methodology. Partner with Digital teams, Product Owners and Operations to identify opportunities. Work hands-on to map processes, analyse data, and design improvements. Determine how technology can enable process change (Salesforce, RPA, AI). Coach Process Analysts and uplift capability in data analysis. Influence stakeholders across the business including Directors and Heads of function. Present complex findings clearly. Work in agile product teams alongside developers and product owners.

Example Project

The organisation processes 500,000 healthcare invoices per year. Some breach a 30-day SLA. You would break down data by invoice type, identify delays, analyse root causes, map the process, use Lean thinking to redesign the flow, decide where digital tools can help, and present clear recommendations.

What You'll Work On

Large-scale Salesforce transformation. Agile product teams. Digital optimisation using RPA, process mining, and intelligent automation. Process mapping using ARIS. Focus on optimising before digitalising, not automating broken processes.

Essential Skills

Deep Lean expertise. Strong process improvement and design capability. Data-driven mindset, comfortable with numbers and problem-solving. Strong Excel skills. Digital exposure in RPA, automation, AI, or product environments. Confident communicator. High EQ and collaborative. Natural problem solver and self-starter.

Desirable Skills

SQL and Power BI. Salesforce exposure. Tools: UI Path, ARIS, process mining. Background in financial services, telecoms, energy, manufacturing, consulting, or digital product.

Package & Benefits

Salary: Up to £65,000. Bonus: 10% target. Location: Birmingham, Leicester, or Leeds (your choice). Hybrid: 2 days per week in office (moving to 3 days from September). Notice: Up to 3 months accepted. 25 days annual leave. Company pension. Life assurance. Private healthcare. 1 paid charity day. Season ticket loan.

Interview Process

Stage 1: 30-minute virtual intro with Product Lead. Stage 2: 2-hour virtual interview with structured Lean questions and presentation. Stage 3: 30-minute final with Head of Business Design & Optimisation. Strong candidates progress quickly.

About the Team

This is a pragmatic, collaborative team that combines Lean, data and digital thinking. The business is looking for optimisation specialists who can bridge the gap between traditional operational excellence and digital transformation.

If you have deep Lean expertise, are comfortable with data, and have exposure to digital and automation, this is a rare opportunity to work on large-scale digital transformation in a modern, product-led environment.
