Job Summary

My Client is seeking a proactive and detail-focused Accounts Manager to take ownership of the firm’s financial processes and systems. This is a vital role at the heart of the organisation, offering a mix of autonomy and collaboration in a supportive, office-based setting.

Your Role

As Accounts Manager, you’ll be responsible for implementing and maintaining compliant accounting and invoicing procedures in accordance with internal policies and the Solicitors Accounts Rules. You’ll oversee client and office ledgers, manage credit control, produce monthly and management accounts reports, and coordinate VAT returns and outsourced payroll. The role also involves liaising with auditors and providing occasional office management support. You’ll play an important role in maintaining the firm’s financial integrity while supporting the wider business.

About You

You’ll have solid experience in legal accounting and be confident managing all aspects of a law firm’s financial operations. You’ll be highly organised, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently while also contributing to team objectives. A thorough understanding of relevant compliance frameworks and financial procedures is essential, along with a proactive mindset and strong communication skills.

You Will Have:
  • Broad experience in legal accounts and compliance
  • Prior work in a Lexcel-accredited firm (essential)
  • Strong understanding of Solicitors Accounts Rules, VAT, and AML regulations
  • Excellent IT skills, including use of case management systems
  • Proven ability to manage credit control, payroll coordination, and VAT returns
  • High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Confidence working with minimal supervision and supporting junior staff
What’s On Offer:
  • 25 days annual leave (plus public holidays)
  • 2 days paid leave annually for volunteering
  • Standard working hours: 9:00am – 5:00pm
  • Fully office-based role
