Temporary Finance Assistant - 6-Month Contract
Location: Monument London (Hybrid & Flexible Working)

Alexander Lloyd are partnering with a growing organisation is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Assistant/ Assistant Accountant to join the team on a temporary 6-month basis. (could be extended) This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in finance who is looking to develop their skills within a supportive and collaborative environment.

You'll be a proactive self-starter with strong communication and analytical abilities, confident working both independently and as part of a team. Candidates studying AAT / ACCA / CIMA are preferred, though not essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Accounts Payable: Manage AP inbox, process and code supplier invoices, credit cards and staff expenses accurately.
• Purchase Orders: Raise POs as required.
• Payment Runs: Support the preparation of payment runs.
• Accounts Receivable & Credit Control: Distribute sales invoices, monitor incoming payments, and follow up on outstanding debtors.
• Bank Reconciliations across multiple accounts.
• VAT Returns: Assist with preparation.
• Month-End Support: Including accruals, prepayments, fixed asset updates and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Year-End & Audit: Prepare information and assist with audit queries.
• Ad-Hoc Support: Assist the Finance Controller with general tasks as needed.
• Work efficiently to deadlines and provide accurate financial information.

Skills & Experience Required

Bachelor's or master's degree, or relevant experience in a finance environment.

Understanding of accounting principles.

Experience with NetSuite is a plus but training will be provided.

Strong Excel skills.

Clear written and verbal communication.

High attention to detail and accuracy.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Professional integrity, reliability, and strong interpersonal skills.

Awareness of data privacy and confidentiality requirements.

Ability to use initiative and manage workload effectively.
