Job Description
Purpose of the Role:
To play a key role in delivering high-quality outsourced accounting services to a diverse client base. The role involves maintaining accurate financial records, preparing management accounts, and supporting system implementation and improvement initiatives. The Semi-Senior Outsourcing Accountant will act as a key link between the bookkeeping and management reporting processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and reconcile accounting records using Xero and other integrated systems.
- Prepare accurate and timely management accounts, financial reports, and supporting schedules for internal review and client delivery.
- Assist with data migration, system setup, and process improvement for new and existing clients.
- Review of VAT returns, accruals, and prepayment schedules where required.
- Liaise effectively with clients to clarify queries, request documentation, and communicate findings.
- Contribute to team knowledge sharing and continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
Skills & Attributes:
- Minimum 3 years experience in an outsourced accounting or practice environment.
- Proficient in Xero (and ideally Xero add-ons or similar cloud accounting tools).
- Strong understanding of UK accounting principles and VAT.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical ability, and communication skills.
- Able to manage multiple client relationships and meet deadlines.
