Finance Assistant
London | Hybrid (1 day per week in the office)
£55,000 – £60,000 + benefits
The Opportunity
We are partnering with a well-funded, fast-growing organisation based in London that is strengthening its finance function as it scales. This is an excellent opportunity for a capable Finance Assistant who wants more ownership, broader exposure, and the chance to work closely with senior finance stakeholders.
This role offers genuine flexibility with just one day per week in the office, while still providing meaningful involvement in the day-to-day financial operations of the business.
The Role
As Finance Assistant, you will support the finance team across core accounting activities and play an important part in ensuring accurate, timely, and well-controlled financial processes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Managing supplier invoices, payments, and reconciliations
- Assisting with month-end close including journals, accruals, and prepayments
- Supporting bank reconciliations and cash management
- Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting audits
- Assisting with expense management and employee reimbursements
- Supporting the preparation of management information and reports
- Liaising with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
- Helping to improve finance processes and controls as the business grows
Who This Role Is For
This role will suit someone who is detail-driven, reliable, and comfortable taking responsibility in a hybrid working environment.
You are likely to have:
- Previous experience in a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant, or similar role
- Strong understanding of transactional finance and basic accounting principles
- Experience working with accounting systems and Excel
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Confidence communicating with stakeholders across the business
- A proactive mindset and willingness to improve processes
- Studying towards AAT, ACCA, or CIMA is beneficial but not essential
