Pentagon are working with a leading Motor Group at one of their flagship dealerships in Glasgow. They are seeking a highly skilled Vehicle Technician to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and a passion for automotive repair. As a Vehicle Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles to ensure they operate safely and efficiently. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Duties
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify issues and determine necessary repairs.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tyre rotations, and brake inspections.
- Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively to carry out repairs and maintenance.
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults using diagnostic equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding vehicle issues and recommended services.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean working environment.
Qualifications
- Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in vehicle repair and maintenance.
- A minimum of Level 2 NVQ but ideally Level 3 NVQ
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools relevant to automotive work.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while meeting deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A valid driving licence is essential.
Salary
£36,000 to £45,000 (DOE and Qualifications)
