New Business Account Executive – Halesowen, West Midlands – £40,000–£60,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus + Benefits
Carlton Young is proud to be supporting a growing insurance broking business with the recruitment of a New Business Account Executive in Halesowen. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with commercial insurance experience who wants to build their own portfolio and focus on winning new clients while receiving full support from broking support and claims teams. You’ll be joining an organisation with a strong client-led culture and excellent career progression opportunities.
You’ll be responsible for developing your own pipeline of new business, working with clients to understand their needs, preparing new business quotations through to renewals, and actively negotiating with underwriters to secure competitive terms. Strong communication, relationship building and commercial awareness are key to success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop a personal pipeline of new business opportunities and grow your network of introducers.
• Advise clients on new business quotations, coverage requirements and ensure appropriate cover.
• Work with clients to expand and develop their insurance portfolios.
• Liaise with broking and support teams to ensure accurate and compliant documentation.
• Actively negotiate with underwriters to secure the best possible terms.
• Work in a compliant and professional manner on all cases.
• Ensure income and retention targets are achieved and maintained.
• Support management in achieving wider business objectives and in developing colleagues.
Skills & Experience
• Strong grounding in the commercial insurance market with exposure to multiple classes of cover.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, video) with a client-first mindset.
• Proven negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
• Confident working with IT systems and broking platforms.
• Experience engaging with stakeholders at all levels including senior decision-makers.
• Full UK driving licence.
