SME Account Executive Team Leader – Halesowen – £35,000–£45,000 + Bonus + Benefits

Carlton Young is supporting a leading insurance broker in Halesowen with the recruitment of an SME Account Executive Team Leader. This role will manage and support a team of Account Executives, driving new business results while maintaining high standards of customer service and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, support, and manage a team of SME Account Executives to achieve new business targets.

• Communicate budget and target progress to the team and ensure deadlines are met.

• Monitor team performance, conduct audits, and provide regular feedback.

• Create a customer-led culture where sales standards and best practice are consistently delivered.

• Oversee credit control, debt management, and ensure all monies are collected accurately.

• Manage diaries, priorities, and team training requirements.

• Carry out Annual and Mid-Year reviews, performance manage underperforming staff, and support recruitment.

• Participate in work-related projects as required and implement audit feedback improvements.

Skills & Experience:

• Experienced commercial insurance broking executive for SME businesses.

• Previous team management or leadership experience within an insurance broking environment is preferred.

• Knowledge of handling new business enquiries, renewals, and mid-term adjustments.

• Strong customer service, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with insurers and clients.

• Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work calmly under pressure.

• Excellent planning, administration, organisational, oral, and written communication skills.
