NC Associates are working in partnership with a well-established and reputable organisation to recruit an Accounts Payable Assistant to join their growing Shared Services Finance Team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with experience in Accounts Payable who is looking to further develop their career within a structured and professional finance function.

Reporting into the Head of Shared Services and working closely with the wider finance team, this role will suit someone who is organised, detail-focused, and confident communicating with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers. Accounts Payable Assistant Responsibilities:
  • Processing high volumes of supplier invoices accurately and efficiently
  • Ensuring timely payments to suppliers in line with agreed terms and internal policies
  • Maintaining accurate Accounts Payable records within relevant purchasing and invoice systems
  • Resolving invoice and purchase order discrepancies and responding to supplier queries
  • Reconciling supplier statements and investigating differences
  • Supporting internal stakeholders with Accounts Payable processes and system guidance
  • Maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and internal departments
  • Ensuring compliance with financial controls, data protection, and internal procedures
  • Supporting continuous improvement of Accounts Payable processes
  • Assisting with ad-hoc finance duties as required
Accounts Payable Assistant Experience Required:

To be successful in your application, you must have the following:

  • Previous experience working within an Accounts Payable role
  • A good understanding of the end-to-end Accounts Payable process
  • AAT Level 2 qualified or actively studying towards Level 3
  • Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables advantageous)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A customer-focused and proactive approach
  • Ability to manage workloads, meet deadlines, and work under pressure
  • A positive attitude with the ability to work well within a team

Desirable:

  • Experience using ERP systems (Business Central advantageous)
  • Experience working with supplier portals
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Full UK driving licence
