This Accounts Assistant role is ideal for someone looking to build a long-term career in finance, with clear progression towards a Management Accountant position as the business grows. You’ll join a modern, fast-moving tech environment where systems, process improvement and data matter.

The Role

  • Processing purchase and sales invoices accurately and on time
  • Managing invoice workflows and supporting documentation
  • Bank reconciliations across multiple accounts
  • Supporting month-end (accruals, prepayments) and assisting the management accounts pack
  • Maintaining accurate records and supporting financial controls
  • Supporting the Head of Finance with ad-hoc reporting and analysis
  • Handling supplier queries and internal finance requests
  • Driving continuous improvement of finance processes and systems
  • Day-to-day use of Xero

About You

Essential:

  • Experience in an Accounts Assistant / Finance Assistant (or similar) role
  • Comfortable with accounting systems (Xero highly desirable)
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach
  • Confident with Excel and financial data
  • Proactive communicator

Desirable:

  • Studying or planning to study AAT, ACCA or CIMA
  • Service-based or technology business exposure
  • Month-end experience

The Timescale

We will be shortlisting candidates for this role W/C 6th January 2026 with a view to interviews with the client in the second and third weeks in January
