M Backup Design Architect in Sheffield - KBC Technologies UK LTD

Location: Sheffield (Hybrid)

We are seeking experienced M365 Backup Design Architects to lead the architecture and strategy for enterprise-scale Microsoft 365 backup using Rubrik across a large, regulated environment. This role is critical to ensuring data protection, resilience, and regulatory compliance for a 350,000-user enterprise tenant.

You will provide technical leadership across design, governance, and implementation, working closely with security, infrastructure, and identity teams.

• Define end-to-end backup architecture for Microsoft 365 workloads including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Teams.
• Design high-availability, resilience, and disaster recovery strategies for enterprise M365 services.
• Ensure backup architecture complies with security, risk, and regulatory standards within a financial services environment.
• Lead capacity planning for petabyte-scale data across a 350k-user tenant.
• Integrate Rubrik M365 backup solutions with existing enterprise infrastructure and identity platforms.
• Provide technical leadership, design authority, and governance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Produce clear technical documentation and design artefacts for stakeholders and delivery teams.

• 8–10+ years’ experience working with Microsoft 365 at enterprise scale.
• Proven experience designing and delivering tenant-level M365 backup solutions.
• Strong hands-on expertise with Rubrik Enterprise Backup (or comparable M365 tenant backup platforms).
• Deep understanding of Microsoft 365 architecture, services, and APIs.
• Experience delivering solutions in large, complex enterprise environments.
• Strong knowledge of compliance and regulatory frameworks (e.g. GDPR, financial services regulations).
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and documentation skills.
