Role: Assistant Conveyancer
Location: Harrogate, West Yorkshire
Salary: £24,000 - £28,000
Contract: Full time, permanent
A well-established and highly regarded law firm in Harrogate is looking to recruit a conscientious and well-organised Conveyancing Assistant to join its busy conveyancing department. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong eye for detail and an interest in property law to develop their career within a supportive and welcoming firm.
The successful candidate will provide essential administrative and legal support across residential and commercial property matters, working closely with solicitors and licensed conveyancers to help ensure transactions progress efficiently and smoothly.
The Role
Assisting with the preparation, drafting and processing of conveyancing documentation
Liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders and other third parties
Opening, maintaining and closing case files in accordance with compliance requirements
Handling routine correspondence, telephone calls and email enquiries
Requesting searches and documentation from the Land Registry and other relevant bodies
Monitoring the progress of transactions and providing regular updates to fee earners and clients
Maintaining accurate records and case management systems
Ensuring all work is carried out with a high level of accuracy, confidentiality and professionalism
About You
Previous experience in conveyancing or a legal support role is advantageous but not essential
Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Confident communicator with strong written and verbal skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable using legal case management systems
Demonstrates a genuine interest in property law and conveyancing
Able to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team
Meticulous attention to detail
Desirable (but not essential)
Experience using conveyancing or case management software
Legal qualifications or progress towards a legal or conveyancing qualification
