Job Description

JHE & Partners are delighted to be working exclusively with an established, family-owned business based in Stoke on Trent as they look to recruit a permanent Finance Director/CFO.


The company have exciting plans to increase turnover by 25% over the next two years. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in this growth phase, partnering closely with the Managing Director and Board to provide strategic direction and support commercial decision making, whilst having full ownership of the company’s financial management.


We are looking for someone with ambition and the motivation to play a key role in driving the company forward. Applicants will have a proven track record at this level and demonstrable experience supporting company growth.

Key duties and responsibilities;

  • Act as a trusted advisor to the MD and Board, providing financial insight and supporting commercial decision making
  • Supporting new business wins, internal investments and capital projects
  • Leading commercial reviews and profitability analysis
  • Oversee all financial operations including monthly management accounts, board packs and annual statutory requirements
  • Oversee all FP&A activities for the group
  • Manage external relationships with banks, external accountants and handle all company secretarial duties
  • Lead projects to update finance systems, improving processes and increase efficiencies
  • Provide coaching and mentorship for people across the business to support a growth mindset
  • Other duties as required of a Finance Director


Applicants will hold a professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA), as well as having experience operating at a similar level recently. Applicants must be able to work closely with people at all levels, across all departments, within the business. The ability to challenge when appropriate and inspire colleagues to achieve their goals in line with company objectives is also a key attribute.
