Role: Legal Admin Assistant
Salary: £23,000
Location: Wakefield, West Yorkshire
Contract: Full time, flexible hours, permanent
We are working with a leading UK law firm to recruit an organised and enthusiastic Admin Assistant to join one of its busy legal teams. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone looking to begin a career in the legal sector, offering exposure to a professional office environment with full training and support provided.
The Role
As an Admin Assistant, you will support the wider team with day-to-day administrative tasks that help ensure the smooth running of the department. You will work closely with colleagues at all levels and play an important role in maintaining accurate records, managing correspondence and providing general office support.
This role is ideal for a candidate with strong organisational skills, a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing general administrative support to the legal team
Opening, maintaining and closing files in line with firm procedures
Updating internal systems with accurate and timely information
Preparing and formatting documents and correspondence
Sorting, scanning and distributing incoming post
Managing emails and directing queries to the appropriate team members
Assisting with document production, filing and archiving
Supporting colleagues during busy periods with ad-hoc administrative tasks
Ensuring records are maintained in line with confidentiality and compliance requirements

About You
This role would suit a candidate who is:

Highly organised with strong attention to detail
Confident using IT systems, including Microsoft Office
Able to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing
Reliable, proactive and eager to learn
Comfortable working as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
Previous office or administrative experience is helpful but not essential, as full training will be provided.
