Overview

A highly reputable and modern firm of Chartered Accountants in Eastbourne is seeking a Semi Senior Accountant to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills in a collaborative environment while working towards your qualifications.

This role is full-time Monday-Friday, with hybrid working after probation.

Salary depends on experience/qualifications. Higher salaries can be discussed.

Duties

• Assisting with the preparation of year-end statutory accounts for limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships
• Supporting with bookkeeping tasks using cloud software (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)
• Reconciling bank statements, ledgers, and control accounts
• Supporting on audits when needed
• Preparing VAT returns and submitting to HMRC
• Assisting with tax returns
• Liaising with clients to request information or resolve queries
• Helping with the preparation of management accounts
• Maintaining accurate client records and files
• Attending training sessions and working towards ACCA qualifications if needed
• Supporting senior/junior staff with ad hoc administrative or financial tasks

What we're looking for

A successful candidate will have some UK practice experience and live within a 1hr commute of Eastbourne.
