Private Client Tax Director
Location: South West (Flexible) | Full Time | Hybrid & Flexible Working Available

As part of their strategic expansion, they are now seeking a Private Client Tax Director to take a lead advisory role within their high-performing Private Client team. This is a senior position with significant influence, offering the chance to shape the future of the service line while working with a diverse and prestigious client base.
ResponsibilitiesClient Leadership - Manage and grow a portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, landowners, and family groups
- Deliver complex advisory services across IHT, CGT, trusts, residence/domicile, and intergenerational wealth planning
- Lead and oversee the preparation and review of personal, trust, and corporate tax returns where required
- Provide strategic guidance on offshore structures, family investment companies, and UK/International tax matters
- Identify and communicate the implications of legislative changes to clients and the internal team
Business Development - Support the development and growth of the Private Client Tax team by winning new work and identifying cross-service opportunities
- Collaborate closely with Partners on key client relationships and business development activity
- Build and maintain your personal brand within the high-net-worth and private client advisory space
- Actively contribute to networking events, marketing campaigns, and referrals
Team & Leadership - Act as a senior leader within the tax function, mentoring and developing junior team members
- Provide clear feedback, support professional development, and contribute to a collaborative and inclusive team culture
- Review complex advisory work and offer technical input across the department
- Support strategic management of the wider tax function alongside other senior tax leaders
Requirements - CTA qualified (or equivalent; ACA/STEP is advantageous)
- Extensive post-qualification experience in private client tax advisory
- Proven track record managing complex HNW client matters including trusts, succession planning, and international tax
- Commercially minded with a strong ability to spot and convert new opportunities
- Excellent leadership and mentoring skills, with a collaborative and proactive approach
- Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills
- A strong understanding of private client market dynamics and tax trends
- Experience with rural clients, landowners, or similar sectors is desirable
