Management Accountant – Bolton
Location: Bolton - hybrid
Salary – up to 50k

Axon Moore are exclusively working with an established SME based in Bolton looking for a Management Accountant/Finance Manager.  We’re seeking a highly capable finance professional to lead and oversee the financial operations of a growing, multi-entity organisation based in Bolton. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key strategic role, working closely with senior leadership to drive financial performance and efficiency.

As Management Accountant, you’ll be responsible for managing all aspects of financial operations across the group. You’ll ensure accuracy and integrity in financial reporting, oversee budgeting and forecasting, and provide insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and present monthly financial information for board meetings to support strategic decisions.
• Maintain accurate nominal ledgers and reconciliations with clear supporting schedules.
• Monitor and manage cashflow on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, optimising working capital and funding facilities.
• Prepare annual budgets and financial forecasts for management and board reporting.
• Review financial and operational data to support pricing, costing, and tender submissions.
• Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including auditors, funders, HMRC, and suppliers.
• Lead the Accounts and Payroll team, ensuring effective performance management and cross-training.
• Support and collaborate with other functions such as HR and IT to ensure efficient business operations.

Desired skills:

• Part/Qualified Accountant/QBE.
• Strong knowledge of financial management, reporting, and cashflow control.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a finance team.
