Senior Planner in Witham - Andrew Construction Recruitment Limited

ACR is currently working with a highly respected and established house builder who is seeking an experienced Senior Planner to join their team in Witham. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven planning professional to play a key role in shaping high-quality residential developments across the region.

The successful candidate will lead on delivering strategic planning advice, managing planning applications, and working collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders to secure planning consents that support the business’s growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the preparation, submission, and management of planning applications for residential developments.
• Provide expert planning advice to land, technical, and design teams throughout all project stages.
• Conduct detailed site appraisals to assess planning risk, opportunities, and feasibility.
• Engage with local authorities, communities, and statutory consultees to support positive planning outcomes.
• Manage external consultants, including planning consultants, architects, and environmental specialists.
• Contribute to the development of planning strategies for new land opportunities.
• Monitor planning policy changes and advise on potential implications for the business.
• Support junior members of the planning team where required.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Proven experience as a Planner or Senior Planner within the residential development, house building, or planning consultancy sector.
• RTPI chartered or working toward chartership (highly desirable).
• Strong knowledge of the UK planning system, planning policy, and development control processes.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and report-writing skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work to tight deadlines.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and commercial awareness.
