Assistant Accountant in Chichester - The Niche Partnership

Looking for a finance role with variety, ownership, and real career potential? This newly created Assistant Accountant position offers a rare mix of Cashflow Analysis and Group Reporting responsibilities - ideal for someone who enjoys both day-to-day control and higher-level analysis. You’ll play a key role in managing multi-currency cash, supporting group consolidation, and helping to shape automation as part of an upcoming ERP upgrade project.
The finance team is lean, fast-paced, and collaborative - they value people who are proactive, steady under pressure, and confident working independently (but know when to ask for help).

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Managing cashflow, payments and reconciliations across multiple bank accounts
• Monitoring and reporting on cash positions and foreign currency movements
• Supporting group reporting and variance analysis during month-end, budgets and forecasts
• Setting up and posting payments, particularly during weekly runs
• Supporting automation and process improvement as part of a major ERP upgrade
• Preparing data and analysis for board packs and management reporting

What you will need:

• To be AAT qualified or part-qualified ACCA / CIMA / ACA
• Previous experience in a similar role, such as Assistant Accountant / Assistant Management Accountant / Assistant Financial Accountant / Senior Accounts Assistant
• Hands-on experience in cash flow analysis and variance analysis
• Strong Excel and data manipulation skills
