This new role within our clients’ business offers a great opportunity for a Qualified Accountant to move from practice to industry. With proven experience in accountancy, you will manage a small, established team and focus on preparing monthly management accounts, identifying opportunities for efficiency and improvement across finance operations, and working on ad hoc projects in-house to support this family-run business to achieve its financial goals. This position is ideal for someone with a genuine passion for accounting, a collaborative mindset, and a strong desire to build a long-term career. This role is a newly created role with succession in mind, so it would suit an ambitious individual.
The Company: A highly reputable and well-established leader in animal nutrition, producing and supplying high-quality feed products to the ruminant and monogastric markets. A team of professionals provides farmers with specialist advice to ensure optimum performance and profitability.
Role Responsibilities:
- To manage a small team in the accounts department
- To manage monthly management accounts and financial reports
- To support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
- Responsible for Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet
- Completing and submitting tax returns, VAT returns, and other statutory filings
- Overseeing and improving financial accounting systems and processes.
- Work closely with department heads to provide financial insight and guidance
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal control requirements
- Identify opportunities for efficiency and improvement across finance operations
- To manage and progress internal projects
Skills you will need:
Essential:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
- Possess strong communication and leadership abilities, capable of articulating complex financial information effectively to all levels of the business
- Display a keen interest in the business, and apply commercial thinking to financial strategy and reporting
- IT competent, with advanced proficiency in financial systems, financial modeling, and data analysis tools
- A collaborative team player who is willing to share knowledge and contribute to collective goals
- Ability to lead by example, setting high standards for integrity, accuracy, and professional conduct
- A demeanor that is confident but humble, enabling constructive challenge and effective collaboration within the team
Desirable:
- Previous experience in auditing would be advantageous
