Capital Accountant in Hertford - MLC Partners

MLC Partners is supporting our NHS client to recruit a Capital Accountant to strengthen their Capital Finance function on a 6–12 month fixed-term basis.

Overview

MLC Partners are working with an NHS organisation that requires additional capacity to support capital reporting, valuations, asset register maintenance and audit-driven improvements, ahead of the March 2026 compliance deadline.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce accurate monthly capital monitoring and reporting.
• Maintain, reconcile and improve the fixed asset register.
• Support capital project financial monitoring and forecasting.
• Prepare year-end audit schedules, working papers and disclosures.
• Assist with valuations and correct accounting treatment of assets under construction.
• Strengthen internal controls and contribute to improved capital accounting processes.

About You

• Part-qualified or fully qualified CCAB/CIMA (or equivalent experience).
• Good understanding of capital accounting principles (NHS experience desirable).
• Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail.
• Effective communicator, able to work with finance and non-finance colleagues.
• Proactive and committed to process improvement.
