Part-Time Financial Controller
Location: Manchester City Centre (Hybrid flexibility available)
Salary: Up to £100,000 FTE (pro rata)
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a hands-on, commercially minded Financial Controller to join a commercial business based in the heart of Manchester.
This is a new part-time role, ideal for a qualified finance professional who enjoys working within a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment where their input directly shapes performance, process, and profitability.
The RoleWorking closely with the senior leadership team, you'll take full ownership of the day-to-day finance function while supporting the business through its next phase of growth and expansion.
You'll combine strong technical accounting skills with strategic foresight to help guide financial decisions, manage cash flow, and ensure smooth financial operations.
Immediate responsibilities will include:
Bookkeeping and bank reconciliations
Issuing invoices (both recurring and one-off)
Payroll management
Supplier management and payments
Credit control and cash collection
Preparing quarterly VAT returns
Mid-term priorities:
Cashflow forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning
Supporting leadership with commercial insights and cost control
Strengthening financial systems and reporting processes
Longer-term objectives:
Operational cost and contract margin analysis
Developing rate cards and commercial pricing tools for the expanding sales team
Providing strategic input into business growth and scalability
We're looking for a qualified or QBE Finance Leader with the confidence and initiative to work autonomously in a fast-paced, creative environment.
You'll bring a strong balance of financial control and commercial awareness - someone who enjoys partnering closely with non-finance teams to make numbers meaningful.
You'll need:
Proven experience in a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or similar role
Strong bookkeeping, reporting and forecasting skills
Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
A proactive approach to improving processes and supporting growth
Experience within an SME environment
