Manchester City Centre - Hybrid working

The Opportunity:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Audit trained, qualified accountant to join a dynamic, fast-growing blue-chip organisation headquartered in the heart of Manchester. This role offers the perfect next step for an ambitious audit professional looking to move into industry, or for someone seeking their second move in a complex, high-performing environment.

You'll be joining a business that is experiencing rapid growth and transformation, offering exposure to group-level reporting, acquisition accounting, and senior stakeholder engagement.

The Role:
You will take ownership of statutory and financial reporting for a large, multi-entity business, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of results to internal and external stakeholders. The position plays a key role in the financial control environment and offers a genuine opportunity to influence and improve reporting processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation of statutory accounts and financial statements under IFRS / FRS 101/102.
  • Manage external audits, ensuring all queries are resolved efficiently.
  • Oversee acquisition and disposal accounting, partnering with key teams during integrations and due diligence.
  • Take ownership of consolidated group results, ensuring accuracy across multiple entities.
  • Drive VAT, corporation tax, and other statutory submissions with external advisors.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations, identify variances, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Support senior finance leadership with insights, analysis, and reporting enhancements.

About You:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA) with 2-3 years post-qualification experience.
  • Ideal for someone moving from audit into industry, or making their second industry move.
  • Excellent technical knowledge across IFRS / FRS 101/102 and statutory reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive, detail-focused mindset.
  • Confident communicator, able to build relationships across finance and wider teams.
