Product Development Engineer in Cambridge - ACS Performance

We're looking for a Product Development Engineer to drive the design, development, and validation of innovative electromechanical products. You'll work across the full product lifecycle-from concept to manufacture-collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver robust, scalable solutions.

What You'll Be Doing

• Designing parts, assemblies, and systems using CAD tools (SolidWorks or similar)
• Building and testing prototypes with a focus on manufacturability, safety, and repairability
• Creating and maintaining technical documentation (CAD files, BOMs, wiring diagrams, manuals)
• Identifying suppliers and cost-effective production routes
• Developing test plans, QA/QC procedures, and safety validation protocols
• Leading FMEA and risk analysis activities to improve product reliability
• Supporting product development projects to meet time, cost, and quality goals

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering
• Hands-on experience designing and manufacturing electromechanical devices
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
• Strong documentation skills (specs, schematics, wiring diagrams, work instructions)
• A practical, flexible, and self-motivated approach-comfortable in a fast-paced start-up environment

Bonus Points For

• Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Knowledge of FMEA and technical risk management
• Familiarity with product safety testing and QA standards
• Experience working with suppliers and manufacturing partners
