NJR Recruitment is delighted to be representing a highly reputable and expanding wealth management firm that is seeking an experienced Paraplanner to join its professional and collaborative team. Working alongside a dedicated group of Financial Advisers and Administrators, you’ll play a key role in delivering a high-quality and efficient paraplanning service to clients across the UK.
The Role
As a Paraplanner, you’ll provide technical research and report-writing support to advisers, ensuring recommendations are well-researched, compliant, and tailored to clients’ needs. You’ll take ownership of the end-to-end paraplanning process and act as a key point of contact between advisers, compliance, and administration teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review fact finds, client notes, and risk profiling questionnaires to assess client objectives.
- Conduct detailed research and analysis including:
- Fund and product comparisons
- Charges analysis
- Taxation implications (IHT, CGT, LTA, etc.)
- Compile and draft clear, compliant suitability reports.
- Work collaboratively with advisers to refine recommendations.
- Liaise with compliance, administration, and tax teams to ensure all cases progress smoothly.
- Monitor case progress through Intelligent Office and report on status updates.
- Uphold Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) and Consumer Duty principles in all client work.
- Contribute to ongoing process improvements and best practice sharing across the team.
Experience & Skills Required
- Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (or equivalent qualification).
- Proven end-to-end paraplanning experience in a financial advice environment.
- Proficiency with research and financial planning tools, ideally including:
- Selectapension, FE Analytics, Dynamic Planner, Voyant, Assureweb, or similar.
- Strong knowledge of investments, pensions, and protection products.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong understanding of FCA compliance, TCF, and Consumer Duty principles.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and back-office systems such as Intelligent Office.
