A well-established, family-run business with nearly 60 years of industry experience is looking to add a Junior Road Freight Export Operator to their Manchester team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for logistics and a desire to develop their career within an international transport environment.

You'll be supporting the export operations team in ensuring UK road freight shipments run smoothly and efficiently, working closely with colleagues across Europe while gaining hands-on experience in freight documentation, customer service, and export procedures.

Junior Road Freight Operative - Key Responsibilities

• Assist with coordinating UK road freight exports, from booking shipments to confirming deliveries.
• Support senior team members with customer communication and provide shipment updates when required.
• Maintain accurate administrative and system records to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Liaise with drivers, warehouses, and the European office to support export movements.
• Learn and assist with basic customs and export documentation.

Junior Road Freight Operative - Position Requirements

• Some prior experience or exposure to logistics, transport, or administration (preferred but not essential).
• Strong organisational skills and a keen eye for detail.
• Confident communicator with a proactive and positive attitude.
• Willingness to learn and develop within the freight forwarding and export industry.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Office and data entry systems.

Junior Road Freight Operative - Position Remuneration

• Competitive starting salary: £23,500 per year (with scope to increase shortly after starting.)
• Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 17:00 - no weekend work
• 28 days holiday including bank holidays
