About the Role Our client is looking for a qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) to step into a pivotal Finance & Compliance Manager position within our global media group. This role sits at the intersection of financial governance, regulatory compliance, and commercial operations — ensuring that our fast-moving, creative business operates with transparency, integrity, and full control across all markets.
You’ll bring a blend of financial acumen, risk awareness, and curiosity — supporting leadership to make confident, compliant decisions as we continue to grow internationally.
Key Responsibilities - Own the financial compliance framework, ensuring adherence to statutory reporting standards, internal controls, and audit requirements across multiple entities.
- Lead on SOX-style controls, risk registers, and internal audit processes to ensure consistency and accountability group-wide.
- Monitor and interpret regulatory developments impacting the media industry (FCA, HMRC, GDPR, IFRS updates, ESG reporting obligations, etc.).
- Partner with Finance, Legal, and HR to ensure ethical business practices in areas such as payments, tax, anti-bribery, and data protection.
- Review and strengthen policies around financial governance, approvals, and delegated authorities.
- Support external audits and ensure timely submission of statutory accounts and tax filings across jurisdictions.
- Prepare compliance reports and presentations for senior management, Audit Committee, and Board.
- Champion a culture of accountability and compliance awareness across finance and operations teams.
Skills & Experience - Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with post-qualification experience in a group finance, internal audit, or compliance function.
- Strong understanding of financial controls, governance frameworks, and international reporting standards (IFRS/UK GAAP).
- Experience within a media, entertainment, or technology business preferred, but open to candidates from fast-paced, multi-entity environments.
- Confident in dealing with cross-functional teams, external auditors, and senior stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Exposure to GDPR, anti-bribery, or ESG compliance frameworks advantageous.
