Textiles Job Description

Textiles are fabrics such as woven cloth and jobs in the industry may involve the processes of designing, manufacturing, packaging and selling the finished products.

So, for example, a textile engineer or manager might be involved with some or all of printing, dyeing, finishing, knitting, weaving, cutting, sewing or yarn manufacturing.

As in other industries, computer-aided design has had an impact on the skills the sector needs and many skilled design jobs require a bachelors degree in textile design or engineering, plus five years experience.

Jobs are also advertised regularly for product developers, assistant designers, service technicians and sales representatives.
