Marine Job Description

For those who have a love of the sea, lakes and rivers, working in the marine industry is the perfect way to combine these interests with a fulfilling job.

Dockyards and boat builders need well-qualified marine engineers to design and build new ships and boats and the US Navy also requires skilled employees for its ships and submarines, especially for the upkeep and maintenance of the fleet.

The marine leisure industry has roles for captains and crew members, as does the US Merchant Marine and the many other ships that transport goods to and from the country.

The marine industry also serves the offshore oil and gas businesses.
