Journalism Job Description

Journalism can be an exciting field of work to enter, with opportunities to research and write stories that may have a national or worldwide impact.

Many journalists start on local papers or radio and TV stations, learning on the job, though there are good journalism and media courses available at colleges and universities to develop qualifications.

Journalists are naturally inquisitive and usually won't take "no" for an answer.

They have to be committed and tenacious. Strong writing skills are essential, and these can be transferred to jobs like proofreading, copywriting and editing as well as to the airwaves and the screen.
