Electrical Job Description

Electricians and electrical engineers need to have thorough knowledge about how to wire buildings or major infrastructure projects and understand a wide range of electrical equipment and how it works.

Working in the electrical sector demands that electricians can diagnose malfunctions in electrical systems and develop the appropriate solutions to mend them.

Electricians should be excellent communicators, able to understand a client’s needs and concerns and explain clearly what solutions are required.

Good planning skills are also important, as electrical workers will often be working with teams on a construction site. A degree in electrical engineering is usually expected for electrical engineers, though many electricians learn on the job as apprentices.
