Catering Job Description

Catering is the ideal career for those who enjoy making and serving food. Jobs in catering stretch across every employment sector with opportunities to work for government, hospitals, large firms, schools and universities, restaurants, cafés and bars.

Employees need to be good communicators and be keen to give excellent service to clients, whether behind the scenes in a kitchen or out front of house as a waiter or taking down takeaway orders.

A bachelor’s degree in hospitality, restaurant or tourism management is useful for those wanting to move up the management ladder, though many people start with no qualifications and work their way up through an organization.
