Aerospace Job Description

The aerospace industry is huge, with many firms providing resources for both government and commercial contracts. Skilled and qualified scientists and engineers may find themselves working on military or civilian projects, with fixed wing or rotor driven aircraft, or on satellite and space technology.

They may be involved in new designs or maintenance and repair of airliners, transport planes or fighter jets. The industry also requires support services such as drivers, security personnel, administrators and finance employees.

Engineers are likely to require at least a bachelor’s degree in a physical sciences discipline, and some employers may ask for a Masters for specific areas of work.
