Administration Job Description

Administrators are the lifeblood of public and private organizations and are responsible for how well an organization functions.

They will ensure that departments operate smoothly and efficiently, keep records up to date, see to it that information is taken in and directed to the right people, and manage where appropriate administrative assistants.

Administrative assistants, sometimes known as personal assistants, help senior managers with booking appointments, managing their diaries and organizing travel arrangements.

They also support administrators in a range of office tasks. Administrators should have a good level of education at lower levels and may need a degree or other professional qualification for more senior posts, allied to experience.
